It started with bread.
My dad has spent his whole life perfecting it. We built Pham Bakery & Cafe so that work could have a home, and so our family could have one too.
Not recklessly. With a plan, one that started with decades of craft, from local bakeries to high-end restaurant and bakery kitchens across Vietnam, and ended up right here in Newport.
We didn't just open a shop.
We came home.
After years in Melbourne, our family had quietly drifted, each of us in different corners of the food industry, living separate lives. Pham Bakery & Cafe was the thing that brought us back together.
My dad, who has spent his entire life working with bread, from local bakeries to high-end restaurant and bakery kitchens across Vietnam, finally has a place that belongs to him. My mum, whose hands know food better than most, is here too. And me, bringing it all together and making sure this dream actually comes to life.

For a long time, bánh mì didn't get the recognition it deserved, passed over as something simple, something ordinary. We believe it's so much more than that..
Behind every great bánh mì is craft, time, and ingredients that actually matter. We source locally, bake fresh every morning, and don't cut corners, because our name is on every sandwich that leaves this kitchen.
We also believe that a good workplace makes good food. Every person on our team is treated with the same care we put into what we serve.
